APPLYING FOR ADMISSION
ⅠWho can Apply
1. Undergraduate Program
1) Equivalence of Chinese High school education.
2) A Qualifying Examination on the level of college entrance exam.
3) The candidature period is 4 years. (Sculpture courses 5 years).
4) If the students meet the graduation requirements and have at least obtained HSK Grade 4 they will be awarded with the Bachelors degree.
2. Master's Program
1) A Bachelor's degree with honors at least at Second Class Upper level in the relevant areas and the ability to pursue research in the candidate's proposed field of advanced study.
2) International applicants whose first language is not Chinese are required to submit: HSK Grade 4 Certificate
4) If the student’s final results meet the graduation demands they will be awarded the masters degree.
3. General Advanced Students
1)Applicants of eighteen and above, with a high school educational background or above are qualified to apply for the admission.
2)The candidature period is generally one or two years.
3) Students whose results reach the standard requirements will be issued the further education certificate.
4. Senior Advanced Students
1) Equivalence of Chinese university master’s degree education.
2) The candidature period is 1 year.
3) Students whose results reach the standard requirements will be issued the further education certificate.
Ⅱ When to Apply
1. There is only one intake a year - in September. The application deadline for Undergraduate and Masters Degree’s is by the end of March each year. Students will then be able to attend the specialized exam during the first 10 days of April at Jilin College of the Arts.
2. Ordinary and advanced studies students can either begin classes in March or September but must apply to Jilin College of the Arts at least 3 months in advance.
Ⅲ How to Apply
1. Documents required
(1) Submit a copy of Application Form for Study at Jilin College of the Arts.
All applicants paying their own expenses can apply directly using the Jilin College of the Arts website(http://www.jlart.edu.cn) See below “Application Form for Study at Jilin College of the Arts”.
(2) Submit most recent education certificate and grade report sheet (A photocopy would be sufficient)
(3) It is essential to provide recommendation letters from 2 teachers or professors. (For masters students)
(4) Submit Physical examination certificate. If you fail to pass the standard physical examination after entering China, you will have to return to your country within a month.
2. International students coming to Jilin College of the Arts must attain HSK elementary level. If the HSK results do not reach the required level, students could first enter a University preparatory course and study Chinese for half a year, then enter the first year undergraduate course.
3. After the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at Jilin College of the Arts has received the related documents they will be notified. The shortlisted candidates will receive Visa Application for Study in China JW202, Jilin College of the Arts International Students Enrollment Notice and other related documents. They will need to be accredited at the embassy or consul who will process your Chinese student visa (X or F visa).
Ⅳ Check In
The following documents are required: New student certificate JW202 form, enrollment advice notice, physical examination certificate, clear as well as bareheaded photograph (3.5×4.5cm) 6 photos. Students must sign in at Jilin College of the Arts according to the designated time. Students coming to study for less than 6 months can also hold a visitors visa.
Ⅴ Fees
1. Tuition Fees:
Undergraduates: 30,000 RMB/Academic Year
Masters Students: 32,000RMB/ Academic Year
Ordinary further studies: 30,000 RMB/ Academic Year
Advanced studies: 32,000 RMB/ Academic Year
When registering, the tuition fee must be paid in full, after students have paid their tuition and the term has begun, drop-outs or students wishing to transfer to another institution will not be refunded.
2. Lodging fees: The double room dormitory is 500 RMB per person, per month, Inclusive rooms are 1000 RMB per person, per month. Lodging fees must be paid in full at the beginning of each academic year on the first month.
3. Registration fee: 400 RMB
4. Jilin College of the Arts and China Safety Insurance Company have signed a cooperation agreement. Jilin College of the Arts will provide the international students free personal insurance. The highest compensation payment amount is 510,000 RMB。
